So i had some sort of genital outbreak that was post shaving my gentals and having unprotected sex. long story short I got a swab and blood test. doctors said I had herpes. got an IGG test a month later and it flagged HSV 1 with a 1.7 result. the internet said this could potentially be good. so a month later tested again and I tested negative on IGG. Thought this was weird so tested again a month later and its still negative. I'm not sure if I have herpes or not and I need help. I need to KNOW.
My sex partner denies ever having it and says they tested negative.
Most people like about having hsv1 or their symptoms are so mild that they never realize it. He may never have had skin symptoms. If you've had sex with 2 or more people, chances are that you have hsv1. Some mutated strains don't even affect the igg levels, so it's possible you already had it, your partner had a strain with a normal igg response and you reverted after your immune system suppressed the outbreak you got from exposure to his strain. It also could have been a false positive. DNA PCR from the swab would have been your best bet for a definite answer.
